Books are Treats Event

Books are Treats, a collaboration between Metro Transit, Metropolitan Community College (MCC), Mainfreight USA/Omaha, Cargo Zone LLC and the Old Market Business Association, is an "all treats and no tricks" Halloween event being held Sunday, October 28th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The public is invited to browse the books in a library-like setting on a Metro bus and take home up to three books for free! The books, all dontated and new, are available for all ages and reading levels, and include both fiction and non-fiction selections.
The book donation stems from the work of MCC Foundation Board Member Terry McMullen, who serves as managing director of Mainfreight USA/Omaha and president of Cargo Zone LLC. For years, McMullen has acquired extra prints of books to distribute among community organizations. MCC’s Service-Learning department assists to organize the books for distribution.
